We are so glad you are interested in starting a house church!

If we agree to help you start a house church and sense it is God’s will and it’s the right fit, we would help you to get it started from scratch, work with you to raise elders and deacons, and license and ordain leaders if needed, support, strengthen, minister to, encourage, and help the church grow. 

We would initially come over to visit you and help evangelize your area, get it started, and get it up and running. Once it is fully started and running well, we will come back to visit on occasion to strengthen, support, and encourage the church.

We believe the four minimum practices in a house church are found in Acts 2:42 –
1) Apostles’ teaching (the Scriptures being taught),
2) fellowship,
3) breaking of bread (food), and
4) prayer
We would expect you to be willing to practice all four of these in your home as you regularly meet together. You can always add additional practices to your house church services, such as worship music, etc.

We encourage all the local house churches to collect offerings and use the money for the people of the house churches and for ministry and missions as the Holy Spirit leads. We ask that as part of your regular mission’s budget, you contribute ten percent of your total monthly offerings to the Awakening Church for their help in starting your house church and for their continual support and ministry to you. This will help cover the expenses of the Awakening Church so we can continue to plant more house churches, strengthen and support house churches, and make many disciples.
